A crisp apple salad or applesauce complements the sweetness perfectly.

Slow Cooker Amish Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • Pork chops (boneless or bone-in) – 4 (about 1–1½ lbs total, ¾–1 inch thick), raw
  • Brown sugar – 1 cup, packed (light or dark)
  • Low-sodium soy sauce – ¼ cup
  • Water – ¼ cup

Directions

Prepare the Slow Cooker
Lightly grease a 4–6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray or oil.

Arrange the Pork Chops
Place the chops in a single layer at the bottom. Slight overlapping is fine.

Add the Brown Sugar
Generously pack brown sugar over each pork chop, pressing it down to cover the surface. Sprinkle any remaining sugar around the chops.

Prepare the Sauce
Combine soy sauce and water, then pour the mixture around the edges of the slow cooker so it doesn’t wash the sugar off the tops.

Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the pork is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.

Adjust the Sauce
Taste and adjust as needed—add a little water to thin it out or a bit more sugar for extra sweetness.

Serve
Spoon the sauce over the pork chops and serve warm.
