Pillsbury Crescent Roll Taco Bake
Ingredients:
- 2 tubes Pillsbury crescent roll dough
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- Water (according to packet directions)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- Olives, sour cream, and salsa (optional toppings)
Directions:
Step 1: Cook the Meat
Preheat your oven to 375°F. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain any excess grease, then stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
Tip: Draining the grease helps keep the crescent dough crisp instead of soggy while baking.
Step 2: Arrange the Dough
Unroll the crescent dough triangles and place them in a circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Overlap the wide ends in the center and point the tips outward to create a sunburst shape.
Tip: Make sure the center overlaps well so it can support the filling while baking and slicing.

Step 3: Assemble the Ring
Spoon the taco meat mixture over the wide ends of the dough and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them underneath the center to secure the ring.
Visual Cue: Some of the taco filling should still peek through the openings between the dough sections.
Step 4: Bake Until Golden
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.
Visual Cue: The taco ring is ready when the pastry looks glossy and evenly browned.
Step 5: Add Fresh Toppings
Let the taco bake rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Fill the center with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, olives, sour cream, salsa, or your favorite taco toppings.
Tip: Letting the ring rest helps the cheese set slightly so the slices hold together better when served.
