Baked Apple Fritters

Baked Apple Fritters
Ingredients:

Ground cinnamon | 1 teaspoon
Ground nutmeg | 1/4 teaspoon
Whole milk | 1/2 cup
Large eggs | 2
Vanilla extract | 1 teaspoon
Unsalted butter, melted | 3 tablespoons
Peeled and chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) | 2 cups
Light brown sugar, packed | 1/4 cup
For the Glaze:

Instructions:
Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
Combine mixtures: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add apples and sugar: Fold in the chopped apples and brown sugar until evenly incorporated.
Shape fritters: Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Lightly flatten each one with the back of a spoon.
Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Prepare glaze: While cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Finish and serve: Drizzle the glaze over the slightly cooled fritters. Allow the glaze to set before serving. Enjoy warm!
