Slow Cooker Crack Chicken

This Slow Cooker Crack Chicken is a cult favorite for good reason—it’s irresistibly creamy, savory, and downright addictive. As chicken breasts slowly cook with ranch seasoning and cream cheese, they become so tender they practically shred themselves, creating a rich, velvety base. Finished with salty bacon and sharp cheddar, it’s comfort food at its finest. Pile it onto a brioche bun, spoon it over rice, or enjoy it straight from the bowl—it’s always a crowd-pleaser.

Shredded cheddar cheese1 cup
Cooked, crumbled bacon½ cup
Chicken broth½ cup
Ranch seasoning mix1 packet (1 oz)
Garlic powder1 tsp
Onion powder1 tsp
Green onions, sliced (for garnish)⅔ cup
Salt and pepperTo taste

Instructions

Step 1: Layer the Flavors
Lightly grease your slow cooker. Arrange the chicken breasts in an even layer. Sprinkle with ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the chicken broth around the sides.

Step 2: Add the Cream Cheese
Place the softened block of cream cheese (cut into cubes if desired) on top of the seasoned chicken.

Tip: Don’t worry if the cream cheese looks chunky at first—it will melt into the broth and seasonings, creating a smooth, velvety sauce.

Step 3: Slow Cook
Cover and cook on Low for 4 hours or High for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and shreds easily with a fork.

Step 4: Shred and Combine
Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return it to the slow cooker and stir until fully coated in the creamy sauce.

Step 5: Add the Finish
Stir in the shredded cheddar and crumbled bacon. Cover and cook for another 5–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and blended.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Give everything a final stir, garnish with green onions, and serve warm however you like.
