3-Ingredient Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

My grandmother used to say Sunday mornings weren’t meant for rushing—they were for taking it slow while something comforting simmered on the stove. This 3-ingredient sausage gravy with biscuits was her favorite: simple, filling, and ready before the day really began. Rooted in classic farmhouse cooking, it comes together with just a skillet, a bit of sausage, a few pantry staples, and warm biscuits that fill the kitchen with a rich, savory aroma. Before long, everyone would wander in, drawn by the smell alone.
Serve the gravy generously over warm, split biscuits so every bite is rich and satisfying. Add a fried or scrambled egg on the side for a heartier meal. Fresh fruit like berries or orange slices brings a nice balance, and a hot cup of coffee or tea rounds everything out. If you’re feeding a group, keep the gravy warm and let everyone serve themselves family-style.
