Bacon Ranch Chicken Bake

This low-carb bacon ranch chicken bake is the kind of dinner that feels indulgent but comes together with minimal effort. A creamy, flavorful mixture is simply spooned over chicken and baked until golden and bubbling. It highlights the familiar comfort of ranch, bacon, and cheddar—classic, crowd-pleasing flavors—while keeping prep quick and cleanup easy. Made in just one pan, it’s perfect for busy weeknights when you want something hearty without the extra work.

Serve it with something fresh to balance the richness—steamed broccoli, green beans, or a crisp salad with vinaigrette are all great choices. For heartier portions, pair it with cauliflower rice or roasted vegetables to keep it low carb, or add buttered noodles or mashed potatoes for those who prefer a more traditional side. Fresh cucumbers or cherry tomatoes also add a nice, kid-friendly crunch.

Bacon Ranch Chicken Bake

Ingredients

  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2½–3 lb)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 tbsp dry ranch seasoning mix
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • ½ cup crispy bacon, crumbled, divided (about 4–5 slices)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter (for greasing)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions (optional garnish)

Directions

1. Preheat the oven
Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Prepare the chicken
Pat the chicken dry and season with salt and pepper. Arrange in the dish, skin side up.

3. Make the topping
In a bowl, combine sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir in ¾ cup of the cheddar cheese and about ⅓ cup of the bacon.

4. Assemble
Spoon the mixture evenly over the chicken thighs.

5. Bake
Bake for 25 minutes, until hot and bubbling.

6. Add topping and finish baking
Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining cheese and bacon over the top. Return to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes, until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the top is golden. Broil briefly if you want extra browning.

7. Rest and serve
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or green onions, and spoon the pan sauce over each piece.

Creamy, savory, and satisfying, this bacon ranch chicken bake is an easy, family-friendly meal that delivers big flavor with very little effort.
