Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Bites

Every spring, my aunt kicked off grill season with a tray of these bacon-wrapped asparagus bites—and they were always the first to disappear. They look a little fancy, almost indulgent, but come together with just two simple ingredients and a hot oven (or grill). Crispy, smoky bacon wraps around tender asparagus, giving you that perfect contrast of charred tips and juicy centers.
They’re naturally low-carb, quick to throw together after a long day, and ideal for those first warm evenings when you want something a bit special without much effort. Serve them warm on a ceramic dish to keep the bacon crisp. Pair with sparkling water, a crisp white wine, or a light beer. For a complete low-carb meal, add grilled chicken, steak, or salmon with a fresh green salad. At a spring cookout, they fit right in next to deviled eggs and a veggie platter for a mix of light and smoky flavors.
Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Bites
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh asparagus spears (thin to medium, ends trimmed)
- 12 ounces thin-cut bacon (about 12 slices)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet or lightly grease a shallow ceramic dish for easy cleanup.
Rinse and dry the asparagus, then trim off the woody ends. Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise.
Gather 3–4 asparagus spears into small bundles and wrap each bundle with a half slice of bacon, spiraling upward and tucking the end underneath to secure.
Place the bundles in a single layer on the prepared dish, leaving a little space between each one.
Bake for 18–25 minutes, until the bacon is crisp and the asparagus tips are lightly charred. For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
Let rest for a few minutes, then serve warm and enjoy while the bacon is at its crispiest.
