Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed tomato soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the meat
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and garlic
Stir in the chopped onion and garlic, cooking for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Make the sauce
In a saucepan, combine both soups, milk, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Heat and stir until smooth and warmed through.
  5. Layer everything
In the baking dish, add half the noodles, followed by half the meat mixture, half the peas, and half the sauce. Repeat the layers once more.
  6. Top it off
Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and scatter over the cheese.
  7. Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and golden on top. Broil briefly at the end if you want extra crispiness.
  8. Serve
Let it sit a few minutes before serving. It’s great on its own or with a simple salad or veggies on the side.
