Sweet Cinnamon Toast

There’s something classic about cinnamon toast. A simple slice of bread becomes something special with a buttery, spiced topping, baked until golden with a light, crisp finish. It’s pure comfort food — easy, familiar, and always satisfying.

Many people remember making it the fast way: butter, a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, then straight into the toaster. This version upgrades that method. By mixing the butter with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and a touch of nutmeg first, the flavor is evenly spread in every bite.

The oven takes care of the rest. Baking brings out a soft, rich texture, and a quick broil at the end creates a lightly caramelized, slightly crisp top. The result is warm, sweet, and hard to resist — almost like a shortcut version of a cinnamon roll.

It’s perfect for breakfast with coffee or as a cozy snack anytime, proving that simple ingredients can create something really good.

Cinnamon Toast

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter – 1 stick (½ cup), softened
  • Granulated sugar – ½ cup
  • Vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons
  • Ground cinnamon – 2 teaspoons
  • Ground nutmeg – ⅛ teaspoon (optional)
  • Bread slices – 8 slices (white, cinnamon raisin, or whole wheat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the butter until smooth, then mix in sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly over each slice of bread, covering edge to edge.
  4. Arrange on baking sheets and bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Broil for about 30 seconds until the tops are lightly caramelized (watch closely).
  6. Serve warm, sliced if desired.

✨ Tip: The short broil at the end gives the toast its lightly crisp, caramelized finish — keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn!
